Design or Accident
These days we have designer clothes, designer homes and designer cars. Some make a big point of having the name of the designer emblazoned on their clothes. Are man and the creation "designer label" or an accident? Is the name of our Master Designer emblazoned on His work? Let's dig in and explore that concept.

So many great links today:
Poke London has a new site. I need to hurry up and get to NY. :)

The Great Art Director Escape. Have we not all been there?
Beautiful Losers. Story of my life. (- the fame)

Starbucks Cheer Chain
My pal Jonathan Hills over at Domani Studios in Brookyln sent over some really nice new work for Starbucks; The Cheer Chain.
"The site aims to connect people all over the world by encouraging visitors to "Pass the Cheer" to one another. It's pretty simple, just follow the steps to start a "cheer chain", create some fun characters and spread some holiday love to friends, family and any random person whose email address you may happen to have."
Nice work.

Schmap Seattle Fourth Edition
My Viretta Park photo was selected for inclusion in the newly released fourth edition of Schmap Seattle Guide. Pretty cool.
"One of Seattle's many obscure, postage-stamp-sized parks, this spot has become a landmark of sorts in recent years, thanks to association with the late Kurt Cobain, who died in the shingled house to the north of the park. Fans leave flowers and other offerings on the park benches. And Howard Schultz of Starbucks built a controversial mansion south of the park. He landscaped part of the park itself, but under neighborhood pressure, he changed it back."

"w00t" becomes Merriam-Webster's Word of Year
"w00t" becomes Merriam-Webster's Word of Year!
"BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- "w00t," an exclamation of happiness or triumph by online gamers, has topped all other terms to become Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year, media reported Wednesday.
The word -- typically spelled with two zeros -- is like saying "yay," the dictionary said. "It could be after a triumph or for no reason at all."
Merriam-Webster's president, John Morse, said "w00t" was an ideal choice because it blends whimsy and new technology."

Avenue A benefits changing with sale to Microsoft
"Employees at interactive advertising agency Avenue A | Razorfish had a couple of questions on their minds when they heard this spring that their parent company, aQuantive, was to be acquired by Microsoft:
Do we get to keep our Macs? And will we be getting the same benefits as Microsoft employees?
The Macs stayed."
